Climbing Kilimanjaro and safari can take 12 days. Kilimanjaro will take five days, two nights in Arusha, and five days of safari in Kenya or Tanzania. Tanzania Serengeti National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya is a fantastic wildlife experiences; the excellent wildebeest migration happens annually. Our safaris range from one to fourteen days in a luxury safari camp, luxury lodge, or budget camp located in the national parks.

After climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, it is ideal to go on safari in either Tanzania or Kenya. East Africa has many National Parks with wildlife animals, including the big five(lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, rhino).

If you will be hiking Kilimanjaro between June and December, Serengeti National park or Masai Mara National Park is a place you will not want to miss; the annual wildebeest migration happens around this time. You can also extend to Ngorongoro crater, one of the world’s wonders. Ngorongoro crater is also a national park in Tanzania, and animal grace is inside the crater all year round. The Ngorongoro crater is a National Park with many wildlife which can visit all year round. If you are an ornithologist, Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania is not a place to be missed; also, the wildlife in the park is impressive. After climbing Kilimanjaro, transfer to Nairobi for a fantastic safari to Masai Mara. Again, the great annual migration is not a place to miss; the Great Rift Valley to see Lake Nakuru National Parked baptized the pink lake; it is home to millions of flamingoes, pelicans, and many other species of birds. Lake Nakuru is also a rhino sanctuary and much other wildlife; only the elephant is absentee.

DAY 1: NAIROBI TO ARUSHA

Pick up from Nairobi International Airport and transfer to Tanzania Arusha by shuttle bus from 0800 hrs to Arusha in the afternoon. Overnight in an Arusha hotel, you will meet your Kilimanjaro climbing guide.

DAY 2: Climb from Marangu gate at 1980m to Mandara hut at 2700m

The hiking time: is 5 hours Distance: About 12 km Habitat: Montane forest Moorland.

After breakfast, climb through fascinating rainforests until you reach the first hut Mandara. Meals and overnight at the place. (2700m).

DAY 3: From Mandara hut at 2700m to Horombo hut at 3720 m

Hiking time: 6 hours Distance: About 15 km walking through the moorland.

Hot breakfast, then proceed through the alpine – meadow. The altitude begins to change and will slow down your energy. You can view the Mawezi and Kibo peaks while enjoying flora and fauna. Here will have reached 12,500 ft, and we have our overnight.

DAY 4: From Horombo hut (3720m) - to Kibo hut (4700m)

Hiking time: 6 hours Distance: About 15 km and here looks like a desert.

After hot coffee and a good breakfast, start the climb; the walk becomes more challenging with the rocks, the lobelias appear, and you will spend the night at Kibo hut at 15,000ft.

DAY 5: This is the day to attempt the summit between 4700m and 5895 m,

It takes about 8 hours to Uhuru peak, then back to Horombo hut at 3700m overnight.

6 hours to descend to Horombo Distance:

6 km ascent – 21 km descent

Habitat: Stone scree and ice-capped summit

The last ascent begins in the wee morning hours while the scree is still frozen; climbing to GILMAN’S POINT is the most tiring and challenging part. Reach UHURU PEAK within an hour’s walk along the crater rim. (19,344ft). Descent to Horombo at 3700m hut WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR NIGHT.

DAY 6: From Horombo hut at 3720m - to Marangu Gate at 1980m.

Descend to Marangu gate after breakfast, about 27km and a good 6 hours walk.

DAY 7: Today, you will be transferred to Nairobi for an overnight

DAY 8: Nairobi to Masai Mara

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon safari drive in a reserve renowned for the great migration and the big five. Meals and overnight at a lodge/budget camp.

DAY 9: Masai Mara SAFARI

Spend the whole day exploring the wonders of the world park following the wildebeest migration path crossing the river—meals and overnight in the lodge or budget camp.

DAY 10: MASAI MARA TO LAKE NAKURU

Leave Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park at the great rift valley, home to millions of flamingoes and many species of birds and wildlife. Afternoon safari drive in the park—meals and overnight at a lodge or budget camp.

DAY 11: Lake Nakuru to Nairobi

Go for an early morning safari in Nakuru safari park, followed by breakfast and transfer to Nairobi for your flight back home.

Arusha Airport for domestic flights only is 10 miles from Arusha town, while Kilimanjaro Airport is for both international and aviation and is 30 miles from Arusha town.
